Approved Project for Landscaping Oasis Palmeral de Maspalomas and New Housing in Castillo del Romeral

The Local Government Board of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has approved two significant construction licenses granted by the Urban Planning Department. These licenses will allow for the landscaping project of Oasis Palmeral de Maspalomas and the construction of 12 new homes in Castillo del Romeral. The first deputy mayor, Alejandro Marichal, emphasized the quick work of the Urban Planning area, prioritizing projects that promote urban development and housing, enhancing both the tourist appeal and the quality of life for residents.

The landscaping project covers approximately 90,000 m² around the Oasis Palmeral de Maspalomas and will be executed by the Maspalomas Tourist Rehabilitation Consortium at a cost of 6,061,443 euros. The project's objectives include correcting existing impacts by removing waste, fences, and outdated infrastructure; enhancing the area's natural features by improving vegetation, fauna, and geology; and improving functionality for outdoor activities and public services. Specific actions include general cleanup, demolition of unused infrastructure, vegetation restoration, creation of access points and reception areas, development of biosaludable routes, installation of shading elements and signage, and restoration of existing masonry walls.

For the Castillo del Romeral project, a license was granted to Galerías Suárez Benítez for the construction of twelve new homes at Calle Juan de la Cosa, at the corner with Calle la Santa María and Párroco Manuel Guedes. The approved budget is 643,122.56 euros, generating 20,579 euros in municipal taxes. This project involves constructing two duplex houses and ten apartments in a two-story building, with a total of twelve parking spaces. The developer has four years to complete the project from the license grant date.

These initiatives highlight the commitment of San Bartolomé de Tirajana's local government to urban development and improving the quality of life for its residents, while also boosting the area's tourist appeal.
